Born in Willisau/Switzerland in 1947. Studied graphic design at the Art School of Lucerne. Own Graphic design studio since 1973. Organizer of jazz concerts (1966-2013) and an annual jazz festival (1975-2009) in his home town Willisau. Winner of numerous national and international Awards. He works in a wide range of disciplines, such as posters, books, record sleeves, art on architecture and products. His recent work is mainly concentrated on works with tape, so called tape art. He also performs live with musicians. His works are in the permanent collections such as in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum New York, the Wilanów Poster Museum in Warsaw among others. From 1998 to 2013 he was professor at the State Academy for Art and Design in Stuttgart/Germany. He is a member of AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale) since 1989.
