Bio

Ka Mochi is a Berlin-based artist, illustrator, and author originally from Poland. She spent several years in Japan, where she developed an independent art program at Shizuoka Daigaku Gakuin University and participated in artist residencies at the Kamoe Art Center in Hamamatsu. Her work merges the aesthetics of Ukiyo-e, Shunga, and contemporary comics, marked by dynamic brushstrokes, precise linework, and a nuanced use of color. Known for her sharp observational skills and subtle humor, her illustrations have appeared in numerous print and online magazines, including Przekrój, and she is a regular contributor to Pismo Magazine.

Ka Mochi’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at Arena Berlin, the Hikarie Gallery in Tokyo, the Festival de Bande Dessinée in Lausanne, as well as in numerous exhibitions across major cities in Poland. She currently teaches Visual Journalism in the English-language program at the Faculty of New Media Art at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology (PJATK) in Warsaw.

She is the author and illustrator of three books: Matsuri, Children of Hamamatsu, and a graphic novel about Władysław Bartoszewski.
