Assessment Criteria and Recruitment Procedure for Candidates
for the Doctoral School of ICT & Design

The enrolment procedure takes into account:

  • the grade on the candidate's university graduation diploma or – in the event of not graduating before the interview date – the grade point average from uniform Master's studies or first- and second-cycle studies determined on the basis of a grade point average certificate – up to 5 points;
  • the evaluation of the candidate's previous research achievements indicated by them in terms of quality – up to 5 points;
  • evaluation of the proposed research project after its prior approval by the promoter - up to 10 points;
  • the evaluation of the presentation of the research project proposal during the interview – up to 10 points;
  • The result of the puzzle test - up to 5 points;
  • possession by Polish citizens of diplomas of second-cycle studies abroad and by citizens of other countries of diplomas of Polish or foreign universities - up to 7 points.

The enrolment procedure is a two-stage process:

Stage I

— formal analysis of documents, i.e., checking the fulfillment of formal requirements and assigning a point value to the grade point average from studies, previous scientific activity, and the preliminary research project proposal.

Stage II

— evaluation of the research project description;

- An interview in English, during which the candidate gives a prepared presentation (about 10 minutes), in which he or she presents a preliminary proposal for a research project and justifies the choice of a research paper topic;

— puzzle test;

— preparation of candidate ranking lists.


Place and method of submitting documents

Documents marked with "Doctoral School" can be submitted by mail to the address of the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology or in person at the Vice-Rector's Office. 

After selecting a research topic (prior to recruitment), the candidate is asked to contact the Office of the Vice Chancellor (biuro_prorektora@pja.edu.pl).
