PJAIT Library
The library is open to all students and employees of PJAIT, as well as external visitors – readers from outside the academy may use the collections exclusively on-site in the reading room.
We provide books, magazines, and textbooks needed for work and study. Readers have the opportunity to check their library account status online (e.g., borrowings, orders, reservations). The library is covered by a Wi-Fi network, has computer stations with internet access, and a multimedia station enabling work also for visually impaired people.
Submission of the thesis

Please note that the cover should be hardcover in a subdued color, such as navy blue, black, burgundy, or green. The student decides whether to print on one side or both sides. Detailed information regarding the formatting of the thesis can be found HERE.
Thesis submissions to the library are possible during opening hours, but no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled closing time. It is not possible to burn CDs/DVDs in the library.

Access to defended theses
IMPORTANT
Due to the reorganization of the thesis archive, from March 15 to June 15, please be advised that access to specific thesis titles may be temporarily limited, and during the relocation period, access may not be available at all. At the same time, theses defended in 2023 and 2024 will be available for review on-site at the library.

We remind you - it is NOT POSSIBLE to borrow the thesis or copy it. The content of the thesis can be used ONLY on the spot - in the library reading room.

For new readers
How to create a reader account?
New students are enrolled in the Library PJAIT automatically. To activate your library card, please come to the library with a valid student ID card or send an email (from your university account) requesting activation.
Employees are required to provide a form signed by the human resources department. Download
How to borrow a book?
All library collections (including books, journals, theses and dissertations) are located in the Prolib library catalog The library catalog can be browsed without being logged in - the desire to borrow or reserve books can be made by email, phone or directly in the library.

1. Read the regulations.
2. Search for the needed book in the catalog. Do it yourself or ask the librarian (in the library, by phone, or by email).
3. Select the required books from the catalog, write down their call numbers and bring them to the librarian on duty or send an order by email to systembiblioteczny@pja.edu.pl.
4. When borrowing books, you must present a valid student ID or a document confirming student status (available for download from the dean's office). Employees must show an ID card.
Students may borrow up to 5 copies at a time for 5 weeks.
Employees may borrow up to 10 copies at a time for a period of 10 weeks.
Each reader has the option to extend the return date of borrowed materials up to three times. After using all three renewals, you must visit the library with the borrowed books; if no reservations have been made for the books, the librarian can renew them for you again.
Library fines Students can use the library free of charge. If books are returned after the due date, the reader will be charged PLN 0.50 per volume for each day of delay.
To pay the library fine, please contact the library. The fine should be paid by bank transfer to the following account number: 41 1160 2202 0000 0003 5249 4962, transfer title: library fine + student number.
Reading Room
Readers have access to 27 seats, including 6 computer workstations with basic software, one multimedia workstation with a scanner, reader, CD/DVD drive, headphones, and a microphone for visually impaired users.
Food, beverages, and outer garments are not allowed in the Reading Room.
The Reading Room is covered by a Wi-Fi network.
Interlibrary Loan
- The PJAIT Library allows users to utilize the collections of other domestic and foreign libraries for research purposes.
- All readers registered with the library have the right to use interlibrary loans.
- The condition for obtaining library materials from another domestic library is prior verification that they are not available in any library in Warsaw, while for a foreign library, it is their unavailability in the holdings of Polish libraries.
- Interlibrary loans are made on the basis of interlibrary loan reversals obtained from the Library PJAIT or by e-mail. In the case of an e-mail message, please specify:
- for books (compact publications): ISBN number of the book, name of the author, title of the book, year of publication;
- for journals and articles (continuous publications): ISSN number, providing the title of the journal, year of publication, volume numbering, page number (in the case of an article) on which the article appears, name of the author, title of the article. - The completed call slip must be submitted to the PJAIT library.
- You can have no more than 3 call slips/orders at the same time.
- Ordered materials are available in the PJAIT library reading room – for on-site use only; they cannot be borrowed.
- The waiting time for ordered materials is determined individually after submitting the call slip at the PJAIT library.

The system allows readers to browse the catalog, which includes items for all faculties of the University in printed and electronic formats, journals, theses, and multimedia. Users have access to bibliographic descriptions of titles as well as new additions and thematic sets.
The system also provides the ability to use an individual library account, allowing students and staff to check their account status, place orders or reserve titles, create their own literature lists, and view their borrowing history.
We invite you to jointly build the collection and submit book/journal purchase proposals using the form.

Central & Eastern European Academic Source (CEEAS) is a database containing full texts of academic journals published by Central and Eastern European countries. It includes academic resources in fields such as economics, history, law, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). The database contains a total of nearly 2,000 titles, of which 364 are in Polish.
Resources are available by connecting to the university network or remotely via VMware Horizon.
CEJSH is an open-access database publishing English abstracts of articles, dissertations, and review papers published primarily in national languages in journals dedicated to the social sciences and humanities in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Serbia, Slovenia, and Ukraine.
CEEOL is a database containing full texts of journals and books in the fields of social sciences and humanities in various languages (including Polish) covering Central, Eastern, and South-Eastern Europe.

DART-Europe E-theses is a portal owned by UCL Library Services in cooperation with LIBER, serving as a metadata database aimed at providing access to open-access theses from Europe. It contains over 300,000 full-text research papers from 424 universities in 23 countries.
Wolne Lektury is a project run by the Nowoczesna Polska Foundation. It features digital reproductions made by the National Library, the Silesian Library, and the Elbląg Library from copies originating from the collections of the National Library, Silesian Library, and Elbląg Library.
The National Digital Archive collects, processes, preserves, and makes available archival materials such as photographs, sound recordings, and films that are part of the state archival fonds.
is a non-commercial project that provides audio versions of books belonging to the public domain. All recordings are prepared by volunteers. The service contains several dozen thousand publications in 71 languages. The audiobooks are prepared in MP3 format and can be downloaded to any device.

A portal created by Lund University Libraries. It contains information on over 8,000 full-text, open-access scholarly electronic journals. Thematic areas cover most academic disciplines – biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, engineering, earth sciences, linguistics, literary studies, art, history, sociology, political science, psychology, philosophy, religion, education, management, and more. The list will be continually updated with new titles.
BAZEKON
BazEkon is a current, annotated bibliography of economic and related issues based on the content of leading Polish academic and business periodicals, academic series from economic universities, economic and management faculties of universities, as well as scientific and non-governmental institutions.
RePEc
RePEc is a collaborative project aimed at disseminating research in economics and related sciences. At its heart is a decentralized bibliographic database containing information on working papers, articles, books, chapters, and software components; data comes from over 160 archives and repositories.
FILMPOLSKI
An excellent source of data on Polish films, actors, directors, awards, and all other filmmakers. The database consists of 5 parts: post-war film, pre-war film, student studies, documentaries, and Polonica. Search by name, movie title, or production year.
BAZtech
The database on the contents of Polish technical journals is created by 22 academic libraries. The database covers Polish literature in the area of engineering, technology, exact sciences, and environmental protection (selected). It contains bibliographic descriptions along with abstracts from approximately 633 titles since 1998. It indexes articles from: selected journals and academic bulletins published by 22 academic libraries and centers, and conference proceedings from the aforementioned publishers.
InTech
Intech is a publisher of journals and books published in the Open Access model. Currently, the platform provides access to 6 journal titles and over 2,300 science books.
DBLP Computer Science Bibliography
DBLP Computer Science Bibliography is an international database in the field of computer science and related sciences. It indexes approximately 1,600 journals, over 20,000 conference proceedings, 15,000 books, and nearly 7,000 doctoral dissertations. The database contains nearly 2.3 million records, of which more than half are records from the last 10 years.
Free service of electronic scientific journals ticTOCs Journal Tables of Contents. The service currently covers the tables of contents of approximately 15.5 thousand open-access journal titles and 11.8 thousand hybrid journals. Nearly 300,000 articles include links to the full text. University of Silesia licensing titles are available within our university's computer network (including Elsevier, Springer). The service can be searched by title, publisher, and subject.

Formatting of publications
Every academic journal or conference has its own strict text formatting rules, which are available on the websites of individual publishers.
Affiliation of the work
Affiliation is the designation of an academic unit as the place where the scientific research, the results of which are described in the publication, is carried out.
A correct affiliation includes first the name of the institution, then the name of the faculty.
In the case of the University, PJAIT should read as follows:

Publishing and dissemination
The next step is to submit the completed scientific paper to a previously selected journal or conference. Choosing the right journal or conference is very important, as it affects the evaluation of the scientific achievements of the author and the academic unit with which they are affiliated.
A list of scored journals, scientific publishers, and conferences is available on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science.
ResearcherID is a tool that allows you to easily monitor the number of citations of your papers and the h-index. All of this is possible after creating and setting up a profile in ResearcherID.
Furthermore, ResearcherID is integrated with the Web of Science database (both products belong to Clarivate Analytics), which serves as a reference database for ministerial reports.
ResearcherID – citations and the h-index
This is a metric showing the significance of all the author's publications, characterizing their total scientific output. It is calculated based on the number of citations of the author's papers.
Co-authorship with scientists from foreign research centers has a direct impact on the increase in citation counts and the h-index.
h-index
The Journal Impact Factor (JIF) indicates the citation frequency of journals. JIF is calculated for journals indexed in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) database. The JCR database includes journals indexed in two Web of Science Core Collection databases – the Science Citation Index Expanded and the Social Sciences Citation Index. The index is calculated by determining the average number of citations received in a given year for publications from the previous two years, divided by the number of documents indexed over that same 2-year period.
Impact Factor
The Scopus database indexes scientific publications and presents statistics and analysis of the scientific output of authors and institutions.
