field of study is offered as a full-time program:
The Bioinformatics program is a full-time program taught in Polish and lasts two years (four semesters).
For full-time programs, classes are typically held Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. Each semester consists of 15 weeks of classes. The academic year runs from October through the end of June and is divided into two semesters. Courses are taught in Polish.
For graduates of biotechnology, biology, and other natural field of study an opportunity to acquire digital skills that significantly enhance the value of their existing education. In Poland, a bioinformatician earns more on average than a biotechnologist, and in the U.S., the difference is as much as double. More importantly, graduates are not limited to the laboratory—they can work remotely for employers in Boston, London, or Paris. A master’s degree in bioinformatics opens doors that a traditional master’s degree in biotechnology, biology, or related fields simply cannot: to the IT sector, data science, and AI.
For computer scientists, field of study an opportunity to enter one of the fastest-growing industries in the world. The biotech and pharmaceutical sectors need specialists who can program, build analytical pipelines, and implement machine learning models—but who also understand the data they work with. Dynamic growth in employment is projected for roles that combine computer science with the life sciences.
Regardless of their starting point, the first semester lays a solid foundation —from Python and Linux, through statistics, to the basics of molecular biology—so that students can fully benefit from specialized courses starting in the second semester.
