Preparatory course for artistic studies - Faculty of New Media Arts
General information
Faculty of New Media Arts invites you to the next preparatory course in drawing, painting and art history for the candidates of graphic design and interior design. The course includes 64 class hours. The course is conducted in Polish. The number of places is limited, the order of application and payment is decisive.

Course program
The series of workshops and lectures includes:
1. Testing drawing and painting skills and spatial thinking (workshop)
2. Practical exercises in drawing and painting (model, nude, perspective, composition, still life) (workshop)
3. Selected issues in art history (seminar)
Classes are taught by Drawing and Painting Studio assistants and art history lecturers from the Department of New Media Art PJAIT.
The course includes 16 meetings of 4 lessons each (45 minutes)
- Drawing 7×4 lesson hours - 28 x 45 minutes total (exercises)
- Painting 7×4 lesson hours - 28 x 45 minutes total (exercises)
- Art History 2×4 lesson hours - 8×45 minutes
The course is delivered on a stationary basis.
Course enrollment procedure
- The candidate must register for the course.
- He downloads the application and signed uploads to his profile - file. pdf.
- Once the application is approved, the candidate makes a payment for the selected course to the individual account number that appears on the registration profile.
- Once the payment is made, the candidate uploads the payment confirmation to his profile.
- The candidate will receive an email with login information one week before the start of the class, please save it, you will need it when the class starts.
- Candidates who wish to enroll in another course (math and computer science baccalaureate) can do so after completing registration for the first course.

What should I bring to the course?
For painting: min. 3 brushes (flat, with different widths - 0.5 cm, 1 cm and 3 cm), paints - preferably acrylic (basic set of colors - min. 5 colors).
For the drawing: pencils, breadboard and regular eraser, paper clips to fix the boxes.
Brystol: 50x70cm format.

Classes begin on February 3, 2026, and end on March 18, 2026. Art History classes will be held on March 24 and 25, 2026.

TEACHING STAFF

FIGURE
Piotr Sieciński, MA – graduate of the Faculty of Interior Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He works in interior design, as well as artistic drawing and painting. He is an assistant in Prof. Paweł Nowak's Drawing Studio at the Faculty of New Media Arts and in Prof. Joanna Stefańska's Architectural Design Studio at the Faculty of Interior Design at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw.
Since 2011, he has been the curator of Galeria Medium, the New Media Art gallery PJAIT, where he is responsible for organizing exhibitions and multimedia presentations of works by students and artists from Poland and abroad. In 2019, he took up the position of vice-dean of the Interior Design department at PJAIT.
Painting, inspired by the relationship between man and nature, occupies a special place in his artistic work. He is interested in the way we shape and transform our surroundings, as well as the point of contact between human activity and the natural environment – these issues form the foundation of his artistic explorations.

PAINTING
dr hab. Myjak – graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He obtained his doctorate at the National Film, Television and Theater School in Łódź at the Department of Cinematography, specializing in photography, and defended his habilitation thesis at the Department of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He works in photography, drawing, and painting, combining his artistic activity with many years of teaching experience.
Since 2002, he has been running his own School of Drawing and Painting. He works at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he heads the Photography Studio at the Faculty of Media Art and the Drawing and Painting Studio at the Faculty of Stage Design. In the 2016–2020 term, he served as vice-dean of the Department of Stage Design.
Since 2005, he has also been associated with the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw. He lectures at the Faculty of New Media Arts, running the Painting and Color in Multimedia Space Studio, and since 2014, also the Photography Studio. Since 2012, he has been running the Drawing and Painting Studio in the interior design program, and since 2013, he has been the head of postgraduate studies in photography.
Since 2011, he has been an expert at the Warsaw City Culture Office in the field of visual arts. He lives and works in Warsaw, and creates art in the capital and in Masuria.

HISTORY OF ART
Agata Myjak, MA – graduate of the Institute of Art History at the University of Warsaw and the Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. From 2005 to 2019, she worked as a conservator at the Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and from 2011 to 2013, she was the director of the Non-Public Art High School at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology. Between 2016 and 2020, she was also a teaching staff member at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
She has completed dozens of conservation and restoration projects and provided conservation services for numerous contemporary art exhibitions. She was recognized by the General Conservator of Monuments and the Association of Monument Conservators in the Second Competition for the best scientific, design, and promotional works on monument protection and museology.
She currently lectures in art history at the Faculty of New Media Art at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw. She has supervised the theoretical parts of over a hundred theses. Her academic work focuses on the theory of contemporary art in relation to ancient art.
