Awarding of degrees
The Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology was granted the authority to confer doctoral and postdoctoral degrees in technical sciences in the discipline computer science, in 2002 and 2009, respectively, and to grant doctoral degrees in the discipline of mechanics in 2014.
Also in 2017, Faculty of New Media Arts was granted the right to confer a doctoral degree in the field of fine arts and art conservation.

Ethics Committee
General Information:
The Ethics Committee of the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology is an advisory body for the evaluation of planned research (students and research staff PJAIT) in accordance with current ethical standards. The Commission takes measures to prevent potential ethical conflicts, and also conducts activities to raise ethical awareness of research among students and faculty.
The primary task of the Commission is to evaluate the proposals of planned research for compliance with ethical standards. The Commission analyzes whether the planned research will be conducted responsibly, i.e. with respect for the dignity and rights of the research participants, as well as whether adequate protection of personal data is planned.
Recommendations and form:
The Commission makes recommendations, which may include recommendations for modifying research plans to ensure their compliance with ethical principles. For research projects that raise ethical concerns, the Commission may recommend rejecting them or halting research until appropriate modifications are made.
The application to the Ethics Committee should be completed using a standard form.

The Ethics Committee also draws on the knowledge and experience of other research and teaching staff at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology by inviting them to evaluate applications of an interdisciplinary nature.
