Daniel Kotowski | Graphic design

Artist, performer. Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (2018) and the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw (2016). He is currently preparing to defend his doctorate at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. His art practice is a starting point for reflecting on ways of existence. He observes experiences and interpersonal relationships, as well as the way we are perceived by other individuals. His works often refer to the notion of biopower and biopolitics. He is particularly preoccupied with the categories of "completeness" and "incompleteness," their ambivalence and hidden potential. He says of himself that he is an indicator of incompleteness, incompatible with the norm, because he is Deaf and does not use speech. Through his art, he develops an authorial communication strategy. He uses various forms of expression, performs performance, designs, creates installations, photographs, objects and videos. He has presented his performative actions and works at the Zachęta National Gallery of Art in Warsaw and the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Labirynt Gallery in Lublin, BWA Wrocław in Wrocław, among others.

Opinion

At the Polish-Japanese I studied interior architecture, specializing in exhibition design. These studies gave me full accessibility, I had a sign language interpreter at all times.

I was able to fully participate in the classes, and thus develop and expand my knowledge.

This gave me full competence to practice my profession.

Dominika Wnuk | Computer science

PhD student and lecturer in data science at PJAIT. Master's degree in technical computer science and telecommunications and a master's degree in applied linguistics. Polyglot fluent in Spanish, English and Swedish. She is researching the application of machine learning in medical diagnostics.

Opinion

I was inspired to study PJAIT by my dad. At the time, I was working on a project at the intersection of linguistics and computer science, and although I had zero idea about computers, the topic strongly interested me. I was looking for a place where I could explore technical knowledge with my linguistics background, and my dad suggested curriculum to PJAIT.

The beginnings were difficult but I came across inspiring lecturers who helped me spread my wings. In particular, I must mention Dr. Danijel Korzinek, who taught signal processing in Python. subject difficult, but insanely interesting. I took a lot of practical knowledge out of these classes, and I model myself on the person of Dr. I am now teaching myself at PJAIT. My fellow majors were also very helpful in my studies, we prepared for exams together more than once. As part of my studies, I had the opportunity to go on a one-year exchange as part of the Erasmus+ program at Kingston University in London. Experiencing a different learning system and a series of conferences and events for students helped me gain valuable international experience and build industry and personal relationships that I still maintain today.

The culmination of the study period was the defense of my diploma, for which I received an honorable mention. And PJAIT turned out to be an ideal place for me to develop, and I am currently continuing my adventure here in doctoral school and sharing the knowledge and experience I have gained in the lecture hall.

Filip Dzięcioł | Computer science

Data architect, engineer, consultant and leader in the field of data and artificial intelligence. A graduate of PJAIT, where he completed his engineering degree with a specialization in Intelligent Data Processing Systems and his master's degree with honors in Data Science. AI teacher at PJAIT, member of DAMA Poland organization and mentor in Data&AI areas. He works on implementing AI innovations in various industries, as well as big data solutions in the pharmaceutical industry. In addition, he runs Mounts.AI, a company that connects the world of AI research with business.

Opinion

PJAIT I chose it because for years it has been regarded as one of the best IT universities in Warsaw. After the IT technical school, I was looking for a place that would allow me to not only gain knowledge, but also develop professionally and meet people who share my passion for science. It was a great choice - already in the middle of my engineering studies I started working in the more technical part of the industry, and during my master's studies I had the opportunity to cooperate in the Data Science Club's research circle. As part of the club's activities, we organized trips to hackathons, organized the first AI conference at PJAIT and did a project with a large technology organization. This collaboration even evolved into the creation of our own company - Mounts.AI.

Also worth mentioning is the opportunity to play in the AZS volleyball section, which stands at a really high level. Combining mental and physical development is very good for the quality of our lives, so I encourage such additional activities that academy.

I remember my time at PJAIT as demanding, but extremely developing. Studying engineering, which I combined with a full-time job, forced me to constantly learn and get out of my comfort zone. Fortunately, in difficult moments I could count on the support of colleagues who had similar challenges. We went through problems together - both academically and privately - which allowed me to establish valuable lifelong relationships.

Even after graduating from engineering school, I was presented with many new opportunities for further development - I was already well-versed in the industry. One of them was to become a lecturer of AI in the specialization I myself was a graduate of. This experience allows me not only to share my knowledge with the next generation of students, but also to strengthen my soft skills in extremely interesting times. Thanks to the relationships and competencies gained at PJAIT , I can both implement and manage IT projects of different scales and industries, run Mounts.AI and engage with organizations such as DAMA Poland.
