Study program
Schedule of the educational process:
First year: general and introductory cultural studies subjects predominate, with a focus on Japanese culture. The second block is language subjects. The third block is subjects of a technical nature, which develop such practical skills in the area of computer science as the use of word processing programs, including editing Japanese texts, the use of the Internet.
Second year: those subjects in the cultural area that require more academic involvement (philosophy, aesthetics) are introduced. From the third semester, students are given a group of optional subjects to choose from. Practical study of the Japanese language is intensified (assignment to language groups in terms of pace and amount of material learned). Workshop classes are continued.
Third year: general humanities, language and workshop subjects are continued, and seminars oriented towards writing a bachelor's thesis are introduced.
Education in our field of study goes beyond the traditional humanities, moving towards a workshop form (with an emphasis on practicing the skills acquired), and towards a certain multidisciplinarity. Humanistic knowledge must be supplemented with those areas of practical competence that are related to information sciences and media. Support in such education is provided by practitioners from other departments PJAIT: Computer Science, Information Management or New Media Arts. Cooperation with them enables students to master the basics of operating digital technologies, and will also encourage them to develop these skills and keep abreast of advances in their field.
Regardless of its practical nature, this study also prepares students for second-level studies, especially in the humanities and social sciences. With more than a basic knowledge of the Japanese language, the best graduates have a chance to continue their language studies.
