Curricula and syllabi

Students of second-cycle studies in the field of study graphic design will receive thorough theoretical and practical knowledge in both selected fields of computer technology applications and graphic design.

The computer science subjects proposed in the curriculum include elements from such fields as: multimedia graphic design, web graphic design, multimedia presentation techniques, digital printing techniques, computer animation creation (2D and 3D), three-dimensional modeling, music and sound in multimedia presentations, and special effects. Theoretical and practical knowledge is complemented by practical skills acquired in specialized computer science laboratories.


In the field of fine arts and design within the area of graphics, great emphasis is placed on providing students with thorough knowledge that allows them to undertake independent creative activities; therefore, students will expand their knowledge and skills in drawing and composition, painting and forms of expression, graphic design, printmaking, alternative design, photography, publishing graphics, and advertising art.

The curriculum is based on imparting and reinforcing knowledge about the mechanisms of visual perception occurring both in the process of image creation (all artistic activities in the field of visual communication: drawing, easel painting, computer graphics, graphic design, digital printing reproduction, multimedia techniques – film, video, animation, sound) and their reception by the observer, as well as on imparting and reinforcing knowledge about shape, depth, color, sound, and movement as material for creating images – the language of visual communication.

Master's degree graphic design programs at the Faculty of New Media Art are offered in full-time (day) and part-time (weekend) modes.


Diploma Exam Rules at NeMA

The diploma thesis defense should take place after two years of study at the Faculty of New Media Arts. The rules and topics of the theses should be consulted on an ongoing basis with the supervisors: main, technical, and theoretical.

Date of the diploma exam in the summer semester 2025/2026:

July 7–10, 2026

September 22–25, 2026


Graduate Profile

The professional qualifications of graduates will allow them to consciously make and implement creative decisions. Graduates will possess extended knowledge regarding the function of art history in culture and society, and will be prepared to use traditional and modern means of artistic expression. The proposed education profile gives our graduates a solid foundation for designing in the following areas: advertising, short film forms, video clips, computer games, websites, user interfaces, and 2D and 3D visual information design. This study profile will provide excellent preparation for work in: advertising agencies, television, art galleries, cultural and educational institutions, computer and internet service companies, the film industry, exhibition institutions, and the visual setting of performances.

Thanks to English language classes held throughout the entire period of studies, graduates achieve fluency in English. This enables them to find employment in Polish companies and institutions in positions requiring fluent English, in foreign companies and representative offices of international organizations in Poland, as well as abroad. Graduates will be prepared to undertake third-cycle (doctoral) studies.
