Spring is here outside, and spring has arrived at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology!

On March 23, our university hosted the unveiling of a unique muralin the presence of Rector Jerzy Paweł Nowacki, Dean Ewa Satalecka, and the project’s initiators: Vice Dean Piotr Nowiński and curator Dr. Anna Eichler.

It’s more than just a painting. It’s a story created by the students—from choosing the location and developing the concept to every carefully crafted detail.

The mural was inspired by the meeting of two worlds. Bolesławiec patterns and Japanese floral motifs intertwine, connected by a golden line that referenceskintsugi—the Japanese art of repairing ceramics, in which cracks are not hidden but highlighted.

The motifs include red poppies, peonies, and white lilies, symbolizing remembrance, elegance, purity, and rebirth. Hovering above the composition is a stork inspired by the gracefulness of Japanese cranes—a symbol of the fusion of two aesthetic traditions.

We are delighted to see such initiatives emerging at our university, and we look forward to celebrating more creative endeavors like these. It is very important to us that we work together to build artistic self-awareness and strengthen it within our community.

Our department is a space where creativity meets bold thinking, and where art, design, and modern technologies intertwine every day. It is a place for people who do not want to follow established patterns, but rather create their own paths, their own visual languages, and their own responses to the challenges of the modern world.

What sets us apart isdiversity—in people, perspectives, forms of expression, and ideas. People with different sensibilities, experiences, and interests come together here, giving rise to fresh, bold, and unconventional projects. We believe that it is precisely this diversity that gives rise to the best ideas.

Our department thrives onendless ideas. It is a space of constant experimentation, exploration, and creative dialogue. Here, what matters is the process, openness, and a willingness to push boundaries. We develop concepts that blend aesthetics with function, tradition with modernity, and individual expression with responsible design for the future.

Another key element of our identity isour modern perspective. We keep up with changes, respond to new trends, and inspire forward-thinking. We are interested in new media, contemporary visual communication, innovative tools, and bold visions that address the real needs of the world.

This department isn’t confined to a single definition. It’s a community that grows alongside its students and faculty. It’s a place where you can experiment, collaborate, develop your own creative identity, and turn ideas into tangible projects.

We are one of a kind because we aren’t afraid to think big, create boldly, and look ahead.
