During the meeting, current activities of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education were discussed, including plans for amendments to the Law on Higher Education. The head of the science ministry encouraged students to actively participate in social and academic life, emphasizing that they are a "great social pride" and possess "immense potential" in suggesting solutions to improve the quality of higher education in Poland.
Minister Wieczorek also noted that one of the priorities is the depoliticization of academies, building good interpersonal relations, and mutual respect. He announced the appointment of a ministerial plenipotentiary for student affairs, aimed at even better cooperation with young people and responding to educational challenges.
The meeting, which took place on this unique day, February 29, was not only a symbolic moment in the calendar, but also a significant step toward building the future of Polish higher education.
The Student Council of the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology expresses its strong hope that the initiative of such meetings with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education will be continued more often than once every four years. The meeting on February 29 may be the beginning of a new tradition of regular and fruitful cooperation that will contribute to the continuous development and improvement of Polish science and higher education.
