On April 16, 2025, the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology became a center of student activity, hosting the university's first-ever event of this scale - the Future Self-Government Conference combined with the Music Society PJAIT concert. This landmark event attracted a record 230 participants, setting a new standard for student initiatives in the country.

Participants and representation

The conference attracted an impressive number of guests, including more than 100 PJAIT students and representatives from more than 30 other universities from across the country. Among those who came were student government presidents, board members and interested students. The event was also graced by representatives of companies cooperating with the Local Government, including AiSECLAB and COMTEGRA, highlighting the university's strong ties with the business sector.

Conference proceedings

The event began with official speeches by His Magnificence the Rector and PJAIT's Vice Rector for Student Affairs, followed by a short performance by PJAIT's Music Society, which introduced participants to the atmosphere of the conference. The event was moderated by Jan Szymanowicz, a member of the cooperation committee.

The chairmen of the various committees of the Student Government then spoke, presenting their initiatives and achievements.

Adam Danski, chairman of the Communications Committee, presented activities to improve the flow of information among students, including student surveys, the "How do I survive the semester?" program and the Studiopyrin initiative.

Maciej Pastor, on behalf of Luke Gęborys of the Legal and Social Committee, discussed the role of dialogue in the academic community and the introduction of the new regulations of the self-government, as well as the work on the new order of the Lord Rector concerning Individual Organization of Studies. The committee is dedicated to supporting students in situations of dispute with the university and providing assistance on issues related to student rights.

Nicholas Piolun-Noyszewski, on behalf of Anna Smuga of the Culture Committee, presented the activities of this important committee for the student community. Conference participants heard about the WINTEGRAL 2025 winter trip to Italy, which was a great success. In addition, the commission's latest projects such as an ice skating outing and a movie night were mentioned. For the first time, students heard about a future integration trip.

Hubert Wozniak, chairman of the Cooperation Committee, presented the impressive growth in the number of partnerships established with companies and the new format of the planned Juvenalia. He also mentioned the numerous events organized for students.

Maciej Pastor, chairman of the International Commission, presented initiatives related to international integration and internationalization of local government activities.

Sophie Dabrowska of the Promotion Committee boasted impressive statistics: more than 360,000 impressions of promotional materials and more than 600 new observers on social media platforms. And the increase in reach, year-on-year an impressive 929% increase.

Rafal Opilowski, chairman of the Digitization Committee, presented the activities of the 11-member team and the announcement of the new multiplatform application PJ-APP, scheduled for March 2026.

Future projects presented by Mikolaj Piolun-Noyszewski, President of the Student Government, included the Warsaw Juvenalia, a new curriculum, Creativity Day, the Innovation Center, new internship opportunities, and the intercollegiate Campus Project.

Music Society PJAIT concert

A unique element of the event was the performance of the Music Society PJAIT circle, which presented a number of covers of well-known artists such as Maanam, Mata, Elton John, Dawid Podsiadło, Bruno Mars, Taco Hemingway and LemOn. Live music perfectly complemented the atmosphere of the event, adding to its unique character.

The performance was enthusiastically received, resulting in invitations for the ensemble to events organized by other universities. What's more, PJAIT 's inspiring Music Society performance motivated students at Warsaw University to form their own music club.

Networking and experience sharing

The official part of the conference was followed by refreshments combined with a networking session, during which participants had the opportunity to make valuable contacts and exchange experiences. This part of the event resulted in many productive conversations that may translate into future inter-university collaborations and new student initiatives.

A future full of possibilities

The Student Council of the Future Conference was not only a presentation of past achievements, but also a preview of ambitious plans for the future. The projects presented, such as the Innovation Center, the Day of Creativity, new internship opportunities, the intercollegiate project "Campus" and the joint Warsaw Juvenalia, show field of study in which Student Council PJAIT is heading.

It can certainly be said that the Future Self-Government Conference and the accompanying Music Society PJAIT concert represent a milestone in the history of student activity at PJAIT. The event not only demonstrated the strong position of our university on the map of higher education in Poland, but also opened the door to new and exciting opportunities for inter-university cooperation.
