From August 1-10 this year, the Tomioka White Art Museum (Minamiuonuma, pref. Niigata) is hosting an exhibition of works by students and teachers of the Department of New Media Art PJAIT entitled (Re)interpretations of Japanese art. The exhibition is curated by Prof. Maki Nagumo (Rikkyo University) and Dr. Jakub Karpoluk (PJAIT). The exhibition will feature kakejiku hanging scrolls and byōbu screens that were created during the Traditional Japanese Painting workshop (15-19.05.2023) conducted by the curators at PJAIT.

The exhibition will also include works by Prof. Maki Nagumo and paintings and graphic works by Prof. Anna Eichler, who teaches painting at the Department of New Media Arts PJAIT.

The organization of the exhibition was made possible through a collaboration between PJAIT, Tokyo's Rikkyo University and the Tomioka White Art Museum.
