On September 11, 2024, at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw, we had the honor of hosting the Vice President of the Chamber of Councillors of the National Assembly of Japan, Mr. Hiroyuki Nagahama and his delegation, as well as the Ambassador of Japan to Poland, His Excellency, Mr. Akio Miyajima.

The Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology was represented by the Rector, Jerzy Pawel Nowacki, Ph.D., the Vice-Rector, Prof. Maria Elzbieta Orlowska, Ph.D., and the Dean of the Faculty of Japanese Culture, Prof. Jerzy S. Wasilewski, Ph.

The visit began with a courtesy meeting with university authorities, during which the Rector recalled that PJAIT was established 30 years ago thanks to the support of the Japanese government and JICA experts, stressing that the university's dynamic development is a testament to the success of this initiative. He also thanked the continued goodwill from the Japanese side, expressed, among other things, through this visit. He also stressed the important role of the Department of Japanese Culture, which not only teaches the language, but also introduces Japanese culture, becoming another symbol of cooperation and friendship between the two countries.

Mr. Hiroyuki Nagahama thanked for the warm welcome and congratulated PJAIT on its impressive development. He expressed hope for further dynamic development of the university as a symbol of Polish-Japanese cooperation. The Vice President said that in the future he would be happy to recommend PJAIT to his newborn grandchild.

The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere. A similarly warm atmosphere accompanied the meeting with students of the Department of Japanese Culture. The young people talked about their experiences with learning Japanese, their plans for the future and their desire to go to Japan to further their knowledge. Among the conversations, there were also humorous threads, such as difficulties in writing kanji characters or questions about the most interesting places to visit in Japan. In turn, the guests were impressed by the decoration and interior design prepared by the students, which reflected the atmosphere of friendship between Poland and Japan.

The visit of the Japanese delegation took place as part of official meetings in Poland. On September 10, 2024, the delegation visited the Senate of Poland, where it met with Deputy Speaker of the Senate Rafal Grupinski. The purpose of both visits was to deepen relations between Poland and Japan. PJAIT, as an institution working for 30 years to strengthen Polish-Japanese ties, was proud to once again host such honored guests within its walls.
