About the program

"Dialogue of Civilizations: Poland in Pixels" was a joint project between Northeastern University and the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, under the patronage of 11 bit studios. Over the course of a month, four teams of mixed student groups created video games that explore Polish identity and culture. The completed games will be presented at GamesCom 2024 in Cologne. The project aims to simulate an actual studio experience for students through an extensive, moderated and supervised game jam, providing an optimal method of education in game development and design. Under the guidance of industry professionals, students gained valuable experience and skills, preparing them to work effectively in the video game industry.

Team

The goal of the Poland in Pixels team was to create four commercial-quality games that creatively and authentically represent Polish culture and identity. The team, consisting of four student groups from PJAIT and NEU, was led by Benjamin Hanussek and Chris Barney and seven gamedev professionals.
