Informational webinar: Information Management (second-cycle studies)

The Data Science Club PJAIT invites students, employees, and graduates PJAIT the second edition of the PJAIT 2026 chess tournament. The event combines sporting competition, educational elements, and integration of the academic community. The tournament is open to everyone—both experienced competitors and recreational players who want to test their skills in a dynamic rapid game format.
The competition will be held using the Swiss system and will consist of eight rounds. The pace of play is 10 minutes per player, with no extra time. The official opening of the tournament and technical briefing are scheduled for 10:00-10:30. Then, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the first part of the competition will be held, covering rounds one through four.
Between 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., there will be a break for networking, during which there will be thematic lectures, a Kahoot quiz, and free time for conversations and informal games. The second part of the tournament, covering rounds five to eight, is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event will conclude with a final lecture on the history of the Stockfish project, which will last from 4:40 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
An integral part of the tournament will be an educational program combining chess with data analysis and the experience of professional players. Jakub Melzacki, president of the PJAIT Data Science Club, will give a lecture on the evolution of chess engines, comparing the classic Stockfish with the modern Leela Chess Zero engine based on neural networks. FM Mateusz Bronowicki will give an insight into the world of professional chess, profiles of leading grandmasters, and the prospects of Polish representatives competing with the world's absolute best.
Registration for the tournament is available at the above address. The entry fee is PLN 20 and will be allocated entirely to the prize pool. The number of places is limited.
