PJAIT at the 16th Przemiany Festival!

"Is AI Thinking for You? " is the slogan of the 16th Przemiany Festival, organized by the Copernicus Science Centre , which will take place from October 2-4, 2026. This year's program will also include representatives from the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology! The festival will focus on how the development of artificial intelligence is impacting our ways of acquiring knowledge, making decisions, interpreting information, and understanding the world.

One of the highlights of the program is the exhibition "In Translation of Algorithms," which explores the relationship between humans, technology, and the process of creating meaning from various perspectives. Among the invited artists were those associated with PJAIT Sefa Sagir and Prof. Anna Klimczak.

Fractured Reflections: Incantation Machine, 2026

During the exhibition, the duo will present the interactive sound object "Fractured Reflections: Incantation Machine" .

The installation consists of a bowl (satellite dish) filled with water, a system of microphones, and a vibrating speaker. The sounds spoken by the audience are recorded and transmitted to the speaker. The vibrations set the water in motion, creating changing patterns on its surface.

Words have power. Apparently. A thousand and a half years ago, in Mesopotamia, spells were written in clay bowls. The texts were arranged in a spiral, believing that the written words could ward off demons, protect the home, or help with everyday problems. The bowl was then buried under the floor, waiting for the spell to unfold.

Sefa Sagir and Anna Klimczak take this ancient ritual and transfer it to the world of modern technology. Instead of magic, science and technology operate in the installation. Simply speaking is enough. The system doesn't recognize the meaning of the words. Whether we're uttering a spell, a declaration of love, or a shopping list is irrelevant. The response is solely to the physical properties of sound: its pitch, intensity, and rhythm. The recorded voice is transformed into vibrations that set the water in motion. Unpredictable patterns appear on its surface. Each voice creates a different pattern, and each subsequent sound instantly transforms it.

You speak, and the machine responds with an image. You can influence what you say, but you can't control what emerges. In this way, the installation combines the ancient belief in the power of words with contemporary technology, questioning what happens to a message when we transmit it to a machine.

Sefa Sagir is a multimedia artist, creative technologist, musician and performer, as well as a lecturer in new media art at PJAIT Anna Klimczak is a visual artist and curator who has been professionally associated with the Academy since 2009.

Representatives PJAIT They will also take part in the festival's panel discussion , expanding the conversation about artificial intelligence to include the perspective of art, technology and creative experimentation.

The "In Translation of Algorithms" exhibition will be available to visit at the Copernicus Science Centre from October 2nd to 4th . The opening reception will take place on October 2nd from 8:30–11:00 PM , and admission to the Przemiany Festival is free.
