PJAIT ATypI 2024 Brisbane, Australia

For PJAIT, there are no borders! The Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology is present in Brisbane, Australia! The ATypI typography conference: Crafted Technology is taking place there from April 16–20, 2024, during which ATypI is celebrating over sixty-five years of typographic education, tradition, technology development, business, and cooperation.

The Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology is pleased to present the international exhibition Type Text curated by Professor Agnieszka Ziemiszewska (Faculty of New Media Arts). In addition to the exhibition, Ms. Marta Myszewska, a graduate of the Faculty of New Media Arts and Head of the PJAIT Promotion Department, will present the university during her speech titled Here We Connect: Communication, Technology, and Art. Thanks to the long-standing activity of the Dean, DSc Ewa Satalecka, PJAIT Professor, the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology organized the ATypI world typographic congress in Warsaw in 2016. Since then, PJAIT female and male students have actively supported the conference through student internships, gaining experience and getting to know the world of typography and design firsthand.

ATypI conferences are exceptional and significant events for the design world, serving as a gathering place for type designers, publishers, creators, educators, and other members of the global typography, technology, and design community. They take place in an inspiring environment and creative atmosphere. They create an open space for integration and discussion, the exchange of experiences from various cultures, networking, and mentoring.

TYPE TEXT → ROOTS is an international typographic project in which over 200 students from 16 countries and 18 universities around the world took part in 2024!

Students participating in the project prepared works representing their region through typography. Each project is accompanied by a description that explains the author's idea and serves as an introduction to a selected topic from their region. Thanks to this, we can learn about the characteristic features of European languages (Poland, Denmark, Lithuania, Germany), the poetics of the Farsi language, or endangered languages of the South American region. The exhibition is organized by the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology. PJAIT is represented at the exhibition in Australia by the following students:
