Exhibition "Manga - the way of the warrior" - Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology

We are pleased to announce that the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology is starting cooperation with the Museum of Caricature in Warsaw. This cooperation is related to the upcoming exhibition "Manga - the way of the warrior", which will be available at the Museum of Caricature at 11 Kozia Street in Warsaw from September 20 to December 22, 2024.

The exhibition "Manga - the way of the warrior" aims to show the diversity of Japanese manga styles and place them in a historical and cultural context. It will focus mainly on the archetype of the warrior, but will not be limited to samurai and martial combat. There will also be references to everyday struggles such as sports, mountain climbing and even challenges at work and in society.

The exhibition will feature not only cartoons and drawings, but also other historical and contemporary artifacts on loan from museums and private collections. Highlights will also include archival video footage, games and a specially prepared reading room with traditional tatami mats. The exhibition is curated by Radoslaw Bolalek - a publisher of Japanese graphic novels, translator and comics researcher who has been involved in Polish-Japanese cooperation for years.
