The history of calligraphy is more than 1,000 years old in Japan. Even today, at a time of significant
technological advances, the art of calligraphy is still part of the educational curriculum
of Japanese people. One might ask, why? Well, remaining in close relationship with the human
mind and its many functions, calligraphy has a liberating power, positively
affecting the mind as well as the body.

During the workshop, which will accompany the lecture, participants will learn the basic
principles of writing kanji characters, as well as the necessary breathing and concentration techniques. Each
participant will have a chance to create their own works, using materials
brought from Japan for the occasion.

The lecture and workshop will be conducted in Japanese and translated into Polish.
