Responding to the needs of the aviation industry

Challenges facing the aviation industry in recent years, and moreover, dynamic changes in the issue of security and operation of airports, open up the need for continuous improvement of the skills of leaders directing development in the aviation industry. In response to this need, the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, experienced in teaching managers, together with Polish Airports, has created a unique and unrivaled curriculum - MBA for IT in Aviation.

On March 11, 2023, this inaugural year of study began with experienced leaders from various companies in the aviation industry, such as Polskie Porty Lotnicze, Polish Air Navigation Services Agency, Ls Services, ACS (operating within PPL), and outside: Hilti Group and Sabre Corporation.

MBA for IT Air in numbers

For 10 months, during 13 sessions, 22 students took 24 subjects, taught by 16 lecturers - true experts in their fields, not only theoreticians, but above all practitioners who passed on their extensive professional experience. At the end of the academic year, 1 oral exam awaited them, covering the issues of the entire study program and checking the acquired competencies.

Development from the IT field

The study program places particular emphasis on development in IT. Project management subjects include, for example, Agile Coach (Agile Organizational Management in IT), while subjects directly related to the aviation industry include aviation cyber security, airport marketing and advertising, and aviation law.

Both theory and practice

The uniqueness of this project is also revealed in the organization of the study, specifically in the alternation of conventions - alternating between full-time and online. This is a deliberate move to not only focus on workshop work, but also to enable effective networking and live exchange of experiences.

As part of the theoretical classes, students had the opportunity to learn about the work of flight controllers during a two-day convention at the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency. In addition, classes in aviation management were held at Warsaw Chopin Airport and Warsaw Radom Airport.

In summary, an MBA for IT in aviation is not just about acquiring knowledge, but also about investing in the development of skills, leadership and adaptability to the dynamic realities of business. Our graduates are qualified professionals who are also the initiators of innovations in their organizations, and as of January 1, 2023, they are entitled to sit on the supervisory boards of state-owned companies thanks to their MBA degree. We believe that the knowledge gained through these studies becomes a key tool in achieving excellence in the management of the aviation industry, as well as in shaping its future.
