The Polish-Japanese Academy was among more than a hundred exhibitors from Poland and abroad at the 26th Science Picnic organized by Polish Radio and the Copernicus Science Center. At our booth, we were able to show off our students' projects and the technology that can be used at our university.

Student Kacper Żukowski presented his engineering work - an interactive third arm that followed the gaze of the person steering it. Also of special interest was the Dobot Magician V2 robot, with which, based on camera image processing, one could play classic checkers. Only a few managed to win with it. The program that made these games possible was created as part of the robotics research club - Robolab by Wojciech Sikora and Michal Nowicki under the supervision of Mr. Piotr Gnyś, whom you could meet at our stand.

The Scientific Circle of Mobile Device Networks presented a water computer, which is an arrangement of plastic gates connected properly with tubes, through which a liquid poured from the top into the appropriate places flows by means of electric pumps and small servos. When the liquid comes down, it gives the result of an arithmetic operation. At our booth you could meet the computer's creators Michal Gryglec, Kamil Soćko, Zdzisław Jax-Małachowski and Antoni Podębski.

At the Science Picnic you could also discuss with the representation of the Bytom Branch of PJAIT and see their unique technology from the Research and Development Center in Bytom. Barbara Lankiewicz, Aldona Rosner and Jakub Rosner introduced you to the Photon educational robot, which allowed picnic attendees to demonstrate the application of artificial intelligence in everyday life through a simple programming task; they showed a thermal imaging camera and talked about its many uses (everyone was able to peer inside and observe its operation for themselves), and introduced one of the educational drones used at the R&D Center in Bytom.

The 26th Science Picnic was a true celebration of science, where you could combine theory and practice while having fun, and we are glad we could participate!
