As early as September, Warsaw will become the heart of eco-innovation thanks to the CASSINI hackathon organized on September 13-15, 2024. This unique event, which is part of the European CASSINI program, will bring together technology enthusiasts, programmers, scientists and everyone who cares about sustainability. Participants will have the opportunity to create solutions that can make a real contribution to protecting our planet.
The hackathon, organized by ABGi Poland and Blue Dot Solutions, focuses on environmental challenges and green transformation. The Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology is the educational patron of the event.
Main Topic: Environment & Green Transition
This year's Warsaw hackathon focuses on the challenges of environmental protection and green transformation. Participants will work on projects in three key areas:
- Climate Change Mitigation: Solutions to help combat global warming by monitoring and reducing CO2 emissions.
- Sustainable Living: Projects that support sustainable practices in daily life, promoting green approaches to consumption and resource management.
- Carbon Footprint Reporting: Tools and technologies to enable companies and institutions to accurately track and report their carbon footprint.
Why is it worth taking part?
The CASSINI Hackathon in Warsaw is more than just a competition. It is three days of intensive teamwork, brainstorming and exchange of ideas that can turn into real projects with global reach. Participants will have access to European satellite data and support from experienced mentors, allowing them to create innovative solutions to key environmental challenges.
Attractive Prizes
The total prize pool is PLN 15,000, which will be awarded to the top three teams during the hackathon in Warsaw:
- First place: PLN 10,000
- Second place: PLN 3,000
- Third place: PLN 2,000
Additional prizes will be announced soon, making participation in the event even more exciting.
However, this is not the end! The winning team from Poland will participate in the pan-European finals, where the top 10 teams from across Europe will compete for three prizes worth a total of €9,000 and 100 hours of expert mentoring.
