Project initiation
The trainees are individuals from Ukraine with higher education who, due to the political situation, had to leave their previous jobs and change their place of residence.
The goal of the training series was for them to acquire new IT skills that will allow them to find their place in the modern job market in Poland. Five non-governmental organizations were responsible for recruiting participants: UNIQLO, Caritas Poland, Ukrainian House, Ukrainian Talent Foundation, and the Ocalenie Foundation. A total of 100 participants joined all courses, upgrading their qualifications in Excel spreadsheets, the WordPress website creation tool, and also learning Python programming.

Course syllabus
The aim of the course is to introduce participants to the world of programming and take their first steps in Python. Topics covered in class include working with the programming environment, syntax basics, data structures and working with them, as well as object-oriented programming and advanced topics. Emphasis is placed on practical applications to enable participants to implement the knowledge gained. The learning outcome is the ability to write a simple program, implement a basic API client/server, and solve junior-level interview tasks.

The course has been designed to introduce participants to modern market solutions for designing their own websites. The most popular engine for creating websites is a solution created by the author of one of the world's most popular search engines – Google. Therefore, as part of this course, participants acquire the knowledge of how to create an independent website, where they receive full control over the content. This knowledge is expanded with topics regarding server configuration and what a website domain is. In a broader perspective, the course enables independent further development of one's website, regardless of anyone else.

The main objective of the course is to introduce participants to the basic functionalities of MS Excel. In addition to learning theoretical concepts related to data management and performing calculations, participants independently perform practical exercises to reinforce the acquired knowledge. The classes cover an introduction to terminology, functions, formatting, text operations and processing, and subsequently data visualization.
