Project launch

The trainees are university-educated people from Ukraine who, due to the political situation, had to leave their previous jobs and change their place of residence.

The goal of the series of training courses was for them to acquire new IT skills that would allow them to find their way in the modern labor market in Poland. Five NGOs were responsible for recruiting participants: UNIQLO, Caritas Poland, Ukrainian Home, Ukrainian Talent Foundation and the Salvation Foundation. A total of 100 participants enrolled in all the courses, improving their skills in Excel spreadsheet, the WordPress website development tool, and learning Python programming.

Programs on the course

Python

The aim of the course is to introduce participants to the world of programming and take their first steps in the Python language. Topics in the class include working with the programming environment, syntax basics, data structures and working with them, as well as objectivity and advanced issues. Emphasis is placed on practical applications to enable participants to implement the knowledge they have gained. The learning outcome is the ability to write a simple program, implement a basic API client/server, and solve tasks from the Junior Recruitment interview.

WordPress

The course was designed to familiarize participants with modern market solutions for projecting their own web pages. The most popular engine for creating websites is the solution created by the author of one of the most popular search engines in the world - Google. Therefore, in this course, participants gain knowledge of how to create an independent website, where they are given full control over the content. This knowledge is extended to include issues of server configuration and what a web domain is. In a broader perspective, the course allows you to further develop your website on your own, independently of anyone.

Excel

The main goal of the course is to familiarize participants with the basic functionalities of MS Excel. In addition to learning the theoretical issues of managing data and performing calculations, the participants will independently perform practical exercises to consolidate the acquired knowledge. The class includes an introduction to terminology, functions, formatting, text operations and processing, followed by data visualization.
