We are pleased to announce that the Rector of the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology has issued a new, extremely important order for the student community regarding forms of support for students and doctoral students with disabilities or chronic diseases.

What is particularly gratifying is that the document was created in close cooperation with the Student Government, with the aim of providing the best possible conditions for those struggling with illness or disability.

The ordinance came into effect as early as June 1, 2025, which means you can use its provisions in the upcoming session.

All of this is aimed at ensuring full and equal participation in PJAIT 's academic life for all individuals, regardless of their health status. We encourage you to read the full text of the Ordinance, which you can find in the Public Information Bulletin.

Under this order, a new function was created - the Rector's Representative for Students and Doctoral Students with Disabilities and Chronic Diseases.

Ms. Kamila Wiemann has been appointed to this position, and you can contact her via e-mail at pon@pjwstk.edu.pl or kwiemann@pjwstk.edu.pl

Her main task will be to assess what students and doctoral students need and can do in connection with their disability or illness.

On the basis of this assessment, the Plenipotentiary selects and proposes appropriate facilities and advises on how to optimally organize a person's educational process.

With the new ordinance, it will be possible to apply for improvements, such as the use of adaptive equipment, assistance from a representative of the Student Government, or support from a sign language interpreter.

The document also makes it possible to apply for an individual organization of studies (IOS), which can include changes in the mode of taking exams, changes in the organization of sessions, or in the way and form of credits, as well as adjustments to the study cycle and in the manner of participation in classes.
