Invitation to Tomasz Myjak’s exhibition “Axis mundi”

On March 26, the "Who Is the Author? Law and Creativity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" conference was held in Auditorium A1 at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology. The event focused on the issues of authorship and intellectual property in the context of generative AI.
The event was organized at the initiative of the PJAIT Student Council Cooperation Committee PJAIT brought together students from technology, creative, and arts programs. The starting point for the discussion was a question that is increasingly being asked in the world of new technologies and the creative market: who is the creator of a work produced with the involvement of artificial intelligence?
Three perspectives – one debate
The conference brought together three different perspectives: legal, technological, and artistic.
The event was attended by:
The meeting began with brief remarks from the speakers, who shared their perspectives on the role of AI in the creative process, the issue of authorship, and the implications of using generative tools in professional work.
This was followed by a moderated panel discussion focusing, among other things, on the line between tool and co-creator, responsibility for AI-generated content, and the future of copyright in a world of evolving generative models.
A substantive discussion on the future of the labor market
The conference was primarily aimed at students who will be using AI in their work in the coming years—both in the creative and technology sectors.
The discussion addressed practical issues related to the use of AI in design, content creation, graphic design, and visual communication. The speakers highlighted not only the potential of new technologies but also issues of responsibility, legal awareness, and changes in the labor market.
The final Q&A session also drew a lot of interest, during which participants asked questions about, among other things, the rights to works created using AI, the use of prompts, and the impact of artificial intelligence on the future of creative professions.
Interdisciplinarity in Practice
The conference exemplified the interdisciplinary nature PJAIT, bringing together the technology, art, and design communities. The event was attended by students from departments including Computer Science, New Media Art, Cognitive Science, and Interior Architecture.
The organizers emphasize that the goal of the event was to create a space for a meaningful discussion about the challenges that will soon become part of everyday professional life for the current generation of students.
The project is an initiative of Karol Sadurski, a first-year cognitive science student, who successfully carried out the project with the mentorship of Jan Szymanowicz, chair of the PJAIT Student Council’s Cooperation Committee.
