Inclusive Design: How Can Technology (Not) Exclude People?

Following a weekend of competition in #Supervision_Hack, we couldn't have received better news! The PJAIT Data Science Club team consisting of:
– Jacek Jackowski (President of PJAIT DSC),
– Adrian Kordas and Filip Dzięcioł (Vice Presidents of PJAIT DSC)
as well as Milena Kustroń and Jakub Melzacki (members of PJAIT DSC) won second place in the hackathon organized by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.
Our students tackled the task "SFCRacker – Solvency and Financial Condition Report for insurance institutions, i.e. detecting incorrect and inconsistent information in reports of insurance institutions". Their solution was an application that allowed for checking and editing institution information, uploading and downloading files (web scraper), as well as analyzing the final data.
The competition was close. The PJAIT team faced worthy opponents, which only motivated them to be even more creative and come up with an even better solution. Ultimately, the difference between first and second place was small.
We are proud that such talented students study at our academy!
We keep our fingers crossed for their future successes, and our Data Science Club academic association is not slowing down, inviting everyone to the "Your Date with Data Science" conference on December 3rd.
