Dr hab. Lech Banachowski, Prof. PJAIT,

Head of the Department of Databases

Dr hab. Lech Banachowski, Professor at PJAIT, graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics,
Informatics and Mechanics at the UW, received his PhD and worked there from 1971- 96. From 1984-86 he worked as a professor at the American University in Charlotte, NC. Since 1994, he has been employed at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, where he received his habilitation. His research interests focus on the areas of: Data Structures, Knowledge Representations, Databases, and E-Learning.

At the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, he is the head of the Department of Databases and the head of Internet Studies, i.e. Part-time Studies conducted using distance learning methods and techniques. He teaches the lecture "Database Management" at the master's degree program. Prof. dr hab. . Krzysztof Stencel

Prof dr hab. Krzysztof Stencel received his doctorate in mathematics in computer science from the University of Warsaw and his habilitation degree in computer science from the Institute of Computer Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is currently teaching and researching in the areas of databases and software engineering, also mentoring junior researchers and students.

His research interests focus on databases, software engineering and applications of artificial intelligence, with a particular emphasis on the practical aspects of using AI in recruitment processes, the financial sector and the fashion industry.

The results of his work have been repeatedly published in reputable journals and conference proceedings. He has also participated in numerous research and development projects at the interface of science and industry. In 2012-2013, he completed a year-long internship as a visiting professor at Google, where he actively co-created solutions to combine the latest academic developments with the needs of the technology industry.

He is currently involved in a research and implementation project based on the use of artificial intelligence, carried out in cooperation with a market and opinion research agency. For more than three decades, Krzysztof Stencel has also been associated with the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information TechnologyPJAIT), where he has contributed to the development of the university's educational offer and the training of successive generations of computer scientists. Prof. Stencel is actively involved in developing innovative educational programs for both students and IT professionals, successfully combining academic knowledge with practical experience.


Dr. Pawel Lenkiewicz

Dr. Eng. Pawel Lenkiewicz graduated from the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology with an engineering degree and a master's degree with a specialization in databases, followed by doctoral studies at the same university. He is interested in databases, especially their administration and performance. At the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology he serves as Vice Dean for Didactic Affairs at the Faculty of Computer Science. He is also interested in university support systems and e-learning. He is the co-author of many modules of the university's Gakko system. He conducts lectures and exercises in subjects related to databases.


Dr. Agnieszka Chądzyńska-Krasowska

Dr. Agnieszka Chądzyńska-Krasowska has a master's degree in mathematics (MIM UW) and a PhD in engineering and technologyPJAIT). For many years she has been affiliated with the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, where she teaches lectures and exercises in Relational Databases, Database Systems, Data Warehousing and Data Integration, Mathematics, and Puzzle Teaching. In addition to teaching, he works in a team developing a database engine that implements queries in an approximate manner.

Her research interests primarily include databases, data warehousing and modern approaches to didactics. Privately, she has had a lifelong passion for solving logic puzzles, which is now not only her personal passion, but also an inspiration in her professional work.

Dr. Ida Yokish

Dr. Ida Jokisz graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics at the University of Warsaw, where she also received her PhD. Subsequently, she taught at the Faculty of Mathematics at the Warsaw Branch of the University of Warsaw and taught statistical methods at the Warsaw Medical University. In 1990-91, she worked at the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. In addition, she edited papers on the editorial board of the international journal "Studia Logica ".

At the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, he has worked in the Department of Databases since its inception. She conducts lectures, exercises and theses in the English language study stream on databases, as well as mathematics and databases for students of the Department of Information Management. Since the beginning of her work at
PJAIT, she has collaborated with medical centers such as the National Cardiology Hospital in Anin and with universities such as Warsaw Medical University and Sheffield Hallam University in the UK. These collaborations led to the development of innovative database applications to help doctors in their work, as well as to facilitate proper rehabilitation processes for patients. As a supervisor student theses in the field of databases, he manages the implementation of the works that students create for medical purposes.


Piotr Gago, M.Sc.

Piotr Gago, M.Sc. is an experienced software engineer, systems architect and university teacher, specializing in databases, software architecture, artificial intelligence and data science. He graduated with honors in computer science from the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw, with a specialization in databases and data warehouses.

For more than a decade, he has carried out projects for companies in Poland, the European Union, the United States and countries in the Middle East. He currently serves as CTO at BTTR, where he is responsible for technology strategy based on AI and data analytics to support the automation of city processes. At the same time, he runs his own IT company Sol, creating software solutions for the security, finance and medical industries. He is interested in software architecture, testing, databases and artificial intelligence applications. He is regularly involved in research, educational and commercial projects oriented toward the practical use of data. He is the author of numerous papers, including:

Elzbieta Ant - Matejewska, M.Sc.

Elzbieta Ant - Matejewska, M.Sc., works in the Department of Databases, giving lectures and exercises at the Faculties: Computer Science and Information Management for many years. She is interested in e-learning. She is the co-author of two textbooks and several modules of the university's Gakko system. He is a supervisor of students in part-time studies using distance learning methods and techniques. He is also involved in transferring grades from other universities.


Krzysztof Matejewski, M.Sc,

PJAIT lecturer, is a graduate of the Department of Mechanical Power and Aeronautics (specialization in airframe construction). The beginning of his contact with computer science was his work at the Institute of Aviation on the Iryda project - programming in Fortran language and strength calculations of the aircraft structure in FE Nastran. He has been associated with PJAIT for about 25 years. He gives lectures in the subjects Relational Databases and Database Systems, as well as exercises in these subjects and the subject Administration of Databases. For several years he was involved in the development of the GAKKO system. In addition to his work for the university, he was the developer of a system supporting the work of one of Poland's cosmetics manufacturers. He developed a number of teaching materials for the subjects Relational Databases and Database Systems.


Kinga Kwiatkowska, M.Sc.

specializes in the fields of relational database architecture and engineering, multimedia application development, UX/UI. She graduated from PJAIT, earning an engineering degree in 2021 with a specialization in "Multimedia - Computer Games." She then earned a master's degree in 2023 with a specialization in "Human-Computer Interaction." Since 2021, as an assistant, she has been teaching in the Departments of Computer Science and Information Management in Polish and English. The area instruction includes design, administration and use of relational databases.

She has experience in user interface (UI) design, multimedia application development and game development, including using engines and frameworks such as Unity, WPF and Xamarin. She has participated in research projects focusing on immersive virtual environments based on multimodal measurement data. She is interested in database design, broadly graphic design and UX/UI design.


Zuzanna Bubrowska, M.Sc.

Zuzanna Bubrowska, M.Sc., received her engineering and master's degrees in Computer Science from the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw. Her thesis was on applications of research nature and their universal and efficient configuration. She gained professional experience in a research center under the custody of PJAIT, in cooperation with the Goethe Institute and the Institute of Psychology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. She is currently teaching at PJAIT, which she started in 2022.


Kacper Padarz, M.Sc.

Kacper Padarz, M.Sc. is a graduate of PJAIT. He graduated in 2022 with an engineering specialization in "Databases" and in 2023 with a master's specialization in "Software, Business Process and Database Engineering" from the Department of Computer Science. Since 2023, he has been teaching database subjects as an assistant. On a daily basis, he develops web applications in the public administration sector. As part of his emerging dissertation, he is developing his system for automatic SQL query checking, which is used in teaching classes. In his spare time, he expands his knowledge of cyber security and good programming practices. He is passionate about aviation.


Ihor Debelyi, M.Sc.

Ihor Debelyi, M.Sc. is a graduate of the Polish-Japanese Academy of Computer Technology, where he graduated in 2020 with a degree in engineering with a specialization in "Databases", and in 2021 with a master's degree in "Engineering
software, business processes and databases". Outside the university, he works as a Full-Stack Developer, developing modern web applications. He is also involved in UX/UI design, focusing on clarity and functionality of interfaces. He follows current trends in IT and develops his competencies in the area of new technologies
and good programming practices.


Michal Pazio, M.Sc.

Michal Pazio, M.Sc., has been teaching academics at PJAIT since 2021, where he combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience gained in the industry. He is a graduate of the university - in 2022 he completed the engineering specialization "Databases", and in 2024 he completed the master's specialization "Software, Business Process and Database Engineering". Outside the university, he realizes his daily work as a Full-Stack Developer, creating complex web projects.

He mainly uses .NET and React technologies in the development of solutions. He is a proponent of Test-Driven Development (TDD) approach and thoughtful, scalable IT systems architecture. He is interested in industry trends, containerization, WebAssembly technology and the use of graphics gas pedals in the browser. He is also involved in developing GameDev related projects. Privately, he is passionate about Japanese automobiles.


Daniel Jablonski, M.Sc.

Daniel Jablonski, M.Sc., graduated with first and second degree honors from the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, Faculty of Computer Science. He teaches classes related to the topics of databases and programming at both the Faculty of Computer Science and the Faculty of Information Management. In addition, in addition to teaching, he works professionally as a Full-Stack Developer, specializing in .NET and Angular technologies. This translates into imparting the latest technological solutions in the course of student education.


Krzysztof Bajszczak, M.Sc.

Krzysztof Bajszczak, M.Sc., graduated from the engineering studies at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in 2018 with a specialization in "Multimedia - Computer Games." In 2019, he earned a master's degree by completing a specialization in "Software, Business Process and Database Engineering." Since 2018, as a member of the Department of Databases, he has been teaching relational databases and data warehousing.

In addition, he also contributes to exercises on the topics of algorithms and data structures and artificial intelligence. He is interested in the subject of computer game development and has experience working with the Unity game engine.
