YUGEN – Beauty from Within: a group exhibition featuring educators from PJAIT!

We invite you to a unique exhibition , “Yugen—Beauty from the Depths,” featuring works by 16 artists from across Poland. These artists, spanning different generations and employing diverse means of artistic expression, are united by their interest in inner experience, mindfulness, and the search for what is difficult to put into words.

Yugen is one of the most important aesthetic categories in Japanese culture. It refers to a subtle, mysterious beauty and a depth that cannot be fully described—it can only be experienced. In the tradition of Zen aesthetics, beauty arises from silence, simplicity, understatement, transience, and mindfulness.

The artists featured in the exhibition do not belong to a single school, do not come from a single generation, and do not represent a single aesthetic. Their work was created in various contexts, yet it is united by a particular sensibility and the conviction that an image, an object, or a sign can become not only a representation of the world but also a tool for experiencing it more deeply.

The exhibition will feature works by: Jan Tarasin, Rajmund Ziemski, Dorota Grynczel, Apoloniusz Węgłowski, Aleksandra Jachtoma, Patryk Paliwoda, Arkadiusz Ruchomski, Adrianna Majdzińska, Elżbieta Banecka, Joanna Imielska, Kaia Kozon, Sławomir Brzoska, Andrzej Strumiłło, Paweł Nocuń, Wojciech Zubala, and Andrzej Kalina.

The exhibition will run throughOctober 5, 2026, and will conclude with a closing reception at 6:00 p.m. at the Pod Arkadami Gallery in Łomża.
