The Museum of the City of Gdynia is now hosting an exhibition entitled "The Light of Gdynia. Photographs by Bolesława and Edmund Zdanowski, 1945–1970," with the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology as its main partner.

The exhibition presents Gdynia from 1945 to 1970 as a city rebuilding itself after the war, full of light, energy, and optimism, captured in the frames of masters of Polish photography. It is a unique story about space, people, and emotions, which is part of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Gdynia being granted city rights.

For PJAIT in the project is an example of the practical combination of art and modern technology. The exhibition shows how contemporary visual tools and the conscious use of AI can support historical narrative and deepen the reception of archival photographic materials.

The next curator tours with Dr. Leszek Żurek, co-curator of the exhibition and lecturer at the PJAIT branch PJAIT Gdańsk, will take place on Sunday, February 8, and Tuesday, February 10, on the 100th anniversary of Gdynia. During the meetings, the curator will talk about the background of the exhibition's creation, the process of selecting works, and the role of technology in contemporary museology.

The exhibition is available at the Museum of the City of Gdynia (ul. Zawiszy Czarnego 1) until January 10, 2027.
