Joanna Polak's retrospective exhibition entitled "CREATOR IN THE PROCESS"

The State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Lublin is honored to invite you to Joanna Polak's retrospective exhibition entitled "CREATOR IN THE PROCESS." The opening will take place on January 20, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the A10 PLSP Art Gallery in Lublin at ul. Muzyczna 10a.

With this exhibition, the artist wishes to pay tribute to her mentors and teachers who accompanied her throughout her education. For this reason, the exhibition will feature both Joanna Polak's contemporary animated films and her earliest works—artistic textiles, paintings, and sketches—which marked the beginning of her creative journey.

The theme of the exhibition is the creative process itself. Therefore, in addition to the finished animations, their components, usually hidden from the viewers' eyes, will also be shown. You will be able to see the so-called "dirty" scripts, i.e., those that accompanied the director on set, containing stage directions and corrections made during production.

Original storyboards (both draft and final versions) and unique film recipes with frame rate and number of frames calculations will also be presented – not only for original animations, but also for music videos. The exhibition will be complemented by original sets and motion phases for cutout films, along with their concepts and sketches.
