New skills in the age of AI: reskilling, upskilling, and the role of continuing education

You are cordially invited to attend Philip Vermeulen's open lecture "Academy of the Senses" on November 20, 2025 at 5:00 pm in the A1 auditorium.
Philip Vermeulen is a Dutch artist who explores the foundations of human perception. His installations engage the viewer's entire body while challenging the physicality of light, sound, movement and vibration.
Vermeulen experiments with various elements, including movement, light, sound compositions, physics, nature and digital technology, to create hyper-sculptures that appeal to and deceive the viewer's senses. These kinetic works act as a catalyst, blurring the boundaries between mind and matter, creating new areas of imagination and challenging previous perspectives.
His installations have been exhibited at museums such as Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam (Netherlands), Stedelijk Museum Schiedam (Netherlands), Rijksmuseum Twenthe (Netherlands), Museum Voorlinden (Wassenaar, Netherlands), Museum for International Light Art (Unna, Germany), iMAL (Brussels, Belgium), Light Art Museum (Budapest, Hungary), Industrial Art Biennial (Labin, Croatia) and ART Rotterdam (Netherlands). His work has also been presented at media festivals including Sonic Acts (Amsterdam, Netherlands), Ars Electronica (Linz, Austria), Festival Interstice (Caen, France), Mapping Festival (Geneva, Switzerland), Novas Frequências (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), CTM at Halle am Berghain (Berlin, Germany).
The open lecture, funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, is part of a visit dedicated to Professor Anna Klimczak's studio. The meeting will be accompanied by a Master Class workshop for lecturers and students associated with the studio.
