On World Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), or May 16, 2024, the AutomaticA11y 2024 conference was held within the walls of the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology. The main theme of the event was the role of artificial intelligence in assisting people with various disabilities.
Artificial intelligence was created to provide support for humans: to automate tasks, solve problems and make life easier. To support us in our pursuit of goals that would normally be unattainable for us. Automation doesn't solve all problems, but it's worth knowing the ones it can solve. It is important to understand what specific challenges AI can solve and how best to put those solutions into practice. Addressing such topics is critical, and we are pleased that our academy was able to become a place to discuss accessibility.
