Dr. Monika Marek-Lucka, DFA

Lecturer in the Department of New Media Arts. She holds a PhD in Fine Arts and a BA in Philosophy. Her primary areas of interest include typography as a form of visual communication and writing as a cultural phenomenon, with a particular focus on the postcolonial turn in typography, global text-based communication, and the interconnections between typography and politics. A passionate educator, writer, and speaker, her artistic work explores the intersections of text art, gestural writing performance, and new media. Member of ATypI.
