We are delighted to announce thatthe Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology has become the Main Partner of a new temporary exhibition at the Museum of the City of Gdynia entitled
“The Light of Gdynia. Photographs by Bolesława and Edmund Zdanowski, 1945–1970.”
The exhibition opens a series of events celebrating the 100th anniversary of Gdynia being granted city rights and is a sentimental journey through the post-war history of the "city of the sea and dreams."
PJAIT participation PJAIT the project goes beyond traditional patronage. As a technology partner, the Academy brings digital expertise to the museum space, allowing post-war photography to be viewed from the perspective of contemporary visual tools. This collaboration shows that historical heritage and IT innovations can together create a new quality in the experience of culture.
Dr. Leszek Żurek, lecturer in graphic design Faculty of New Media Arts) at PJAIT , played a significant role in shaping the exhibition. As co-curator, he used his artistic and academic experience to give the exhibition concept a coherent aesthetic and theoretical form. His knowledge of photography, psychophysiology of vision, and conscious use of AI tools allowed him to bring out the unique play of light and emotion in the Zdanowskis' photographs.
We invite students, employees, and anyone interested in history, art, and technology to the exhibition opening, which will take place at the Museum of the City of Gdynia (ul. Zawiszy Czarnego 1) on Saturday, February 7, at 6:00 p.m.
