Recruiting for winter school in Cyprus as part of Infotester4Education project

Do you struggle with the problem of unverified or false information?
Do facts presented in the media seem unreliable to you?
A team of researchers, developers, specialists and fact-checking enthusiasts took on an ambitious challenge and created an online platform InfoTester, which is designed to support the information verification process.

Now the InfoTester team invites you to attend the Winter School in Nicosia, Cyprus.

When:

February 8 to 21 , 2026 (feel the spring while winter lasts at home!).

Where:

Capital of Cyprus, Nicosia - classes will be held in an office space in the city center.

Our goals:

  1. Raise awareness and practical skills for detecting disinformation among EU citizens by making them aware of methods for detecting disinformation on the Internet and social media.
  2. Increase the perception of reliable information by making the public aware of how false content spreads, and encourage people to verify information before releasing it.

Benefits to the student:

  • Two weeks on the ancient island of Cyprus;
  • A lump sum to cover reasonable transportation, lodging and food costs;
  • A unique opportunity to learn more about disinformation and how to counter it;
  • Ability to test new disinformation detection tools;
  • International cooperation (20 students representing universities from 4 countries);
  • Certificate of Participation;
  • Lunch and coffee breaks.

What we expect from you:

  • Communication skills in English;
  • Valid student status at the time of departure to Cyprus;
  • Participation in the entire program - about 5 hours a day;
  • Commitment to teamwork;
  • Provide feedback on the program and platform.

  • After the initial selection, you will be invited for an interview.
  • One person will be selected to go to Cyprus.
