We are very proud to announce that the President of Mongolia, Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, has awarded the Order of the Polar Star (Altan Gadas) to the Dean of the Faculty of Japanese Culture, Prof. Dr. Jerzy S. Wasilewski. This is the highest civilian decoration that Mongolia can award to a foreigner. The order recognizes the scholarly work of Prof. Dr. H.E. Jerzy S. Wasilewski in the field of Mongolian culture and traditions.

The Pole Star has a special meaning in Mongolian culture - it symbolizes constancy, guidance and wisdom, but also represents a symbolic cosmic axis. This award is all the more special for Prof. Dr. Wasilewski, who specializes in the study of symbolic culture and has been studying the meanings and rituals present in the traditions of Asian countries for years.

This award is given to individuals who contribute to the development of relations between Mongolia and their country through their work.

We sincerely congratulate Prof. Dr. Wasilewski and Prof. Dr. Lech Mroz on these honorable awards!
