"When I grow up, will I remember what it's like to be a child?"

We cordially invite you to the book launch of Dr. Jaśmina Wójcik, Prof. *PJAIT *—a case study of the making of the documentary film*King Maciuś the First*(2019–2025). It is a record of six years of work on a project that combines film, education, and artistic activities.

The director describes the successive stages of the project—from securing funding and initial concepts, through development, to production. The book is supplemented by interviews with the film’s protagonists, documentation of development workshops, and photographs from the various stages of production, as well as the author’s drawings fromthe Manifesto of Empathetic Educationand storyboards by Dr. Jakub Wróblewski, professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

This is a story about creativity understood as a process open to collaboration, experimentation, and unpredictability. The book encourages readers to find their own path—to build alliances, recognize their potential, and be ready to improvise in the face of changes beyond our control. It also reminds us that failures can be valuable lessons, and that reality—even when it deviates from our plans—can be more inspiring than those plans themselves.

The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss the creation of the book and the film, as well as collaboration at the intersection of film, education, and art.The event will be accompanied by a screening of the film “King Maciuś the First.”
