Graduate of the Faculty of Interior Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology.
Architect, Doctor of Fine Arts, professor at Warsaw's art schools: Faculty of Interior Design at the Academy of Fine Arts and Faculty of New Media Art at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology.
She is scientifically active as a promoter and reviewer of doctoral theses, reviewer in postdoctoral dissertations. She is active in expert committees, as a juror of competitions, organizer of open-air events and workshops popularizing the discipline and speaker at scientific conferences.
Designer of architecture and interiors, residential and public buildings, furniture, decorative elements and stained glass. She publishes and conducts research, her latest publication is
Joanna Walendzik-Stefańska Stained Glass, Warsaw 2022, ISBN 978-83-66835-33-7.
She combines design with painting and drawing art. Oil paintings, drawings, pastels, stained glass designs have been repeatedly exhibited at solo exhibitions, group exhibitions and art festivals.
In the artist's diverse oeuvre, an important trend are design activities in historic buildings and sacred architecture and art.
She is the author of the revitalization of the interiors of the Pokamedulski Monastery Complex in Wigry, the permanent exhibition in the Museum of Borderlands in Sejny, the adoration chapel in the historic Lodz archcathedral, the revitalization of the interiors of many valuable historic churches.
