Joanna Polak works mainly in the field of film animation, simultaneous video installation and film therapy. In her works she avoids literalism in favor of mental shortcuts combined with a surreal vision of the World. She is fascinated by both the content and the matter of film itself. Constantly experimenting in animation, she uses dozens of variations of traditional and digital techniques, for which she uses materials often with sophisticated texture or unobvious color. Her films have been screened at more than 900 presentations, festivals and TV channels (Europe, Asia, USA). Her works have won 70 awards and prizes (Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovenia, USA, Belarus, Croatia, Russia, Ireland, Italy, India). She is the director of more than 100 films mainly animated.
