Department of Information Management - Competence for the Business Services Industry

Project Goal: To improve the professional, communication, analytical and IT competencies required by the Business Services Industry of 60 students of the Department of Information Management [WZI] PJAIT. Goal achieved by XII 2019 when all participants receive confirmation of competencies acquired.

The project's activities will include students of the last two semesters of full-time engineering studies, including 15 K and 45 M, who, by taking part in the workshops, will gain the opportunity to supplement their communication, professional, analytical and IT competencies, including those related to the use of advanced computer systems used in Business Services companies. Of the communication competencies, special emphasis will be placed on the ability to work in virtual teams, communication with internal and external customers, and self-organization and presentation skills. The project also includes workshops to enhance cognitive skills - problem solving, creativity and analytical thinking. Students will have the opportunity to test the acquired competencies in practical conditions by participating in study visits and project work carried out under the supervision of companies. The project will involve a program council established for this purpose, bringing together companies in the Business Services industry. The direct benefits for the participants will be to receive feedback in the form of recommendations from the company and the profile developed as part of the Vocational Counseling, and to develop the competencies required by the labor market, the training of which in the formula of formal education is not possible. The added value is to increase the knowledge of the PJAIT staff about the needs of the labor market through participation in the meetings of the Program Council, which will have a positive effect on students of subsequent years. The project assumes achievement of high indicators - support of 90% of WZI students, each of whom will improve competencies required by the labor market.
