X. Edition of the #Droniada is over!
The event included Droniada Tech, a two-day conference on AI in drones and robotics at the Silesian Planetarium full of innovative ideas that infuse hope for increasingly positive uses of the technology.
The conference brought together a number of specialists, including R&D expert Andrzej Zielinski of Orange Innovation, a flagship partner of the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, who comprehensively answered the question "How to use telecommunications data in aerial robotics?" by analyzing the research conducted. On the same day, in the debate entitled. "What competencies do you need to master AI?" was attended by Prof. Konrad Wojciechowski – director of the Research and Development Center PJAIT in Bytom.
What's more, on the second day of the conference, Dr. Marcin Paszkuta participated in the special session "Silesian Innovation. Directions for changing the image of the region through innovative projects for the industry of the future", during which he spoke on the AI-based emergency landing algorithm.
But that was not the end of #Droniada!
On Sunday, June 4th, the Grand Finale – Droniada Expo&Kids by Metropolia GZM – was held at the Pola Marsowe in Silesia Park. Among the many exhibitors was also PJAIT Bytom, which presented technologies of the Polish-Japanese Academy and Research and Development Center:
- Marcin Paszkuta, Ph.D., and Jakub Rosner, Ph.D., talked about drones (including folding drones and thermal drones), their use and application in teaching, and current projects;
- CBR specialist Tomasz Pytel talked about the laboratories the center has at its disposal;
- Michal Nowicki, a PJAIT student, presented a robot programmed as part of his engineering thesis with which to play classic checkers.
PJAIT was a content partner of the event.
