Matsuri means "holiday" or "festival" in Japanese. It can mean both a small local festival and a lavish celebration. Their original purpose was to worship deities or honor ancestors.

Today, matsuri are both religious and secular events. They are held throughout the year, but most take place in summer and early autumn. They are joyous celebrations full of music, dance, positive energy and delicious traditional food.

Being so closely associated with Japan, from April 24-28 we are pleased to invite you to a week of celebration of Japanese traditions at PJAIT, held under the name Matsuri. Join us as we celebrate Japanese art, music and Japanese customs together.

Through a series of lectures in Polish and English, as well as various attractions such as Japanese games, fortune telling and writing names in Japanese, among others, we want you to feel the true spirit of Japanese culture.

On Tuesday, April 25, we also invite you to the lobby of Building B for the opening of an exhibition by PJAIT lecturer Katarzyna Mochocka, author and illustrator of books on Japanese culture.

The event is open to all students and faculty PJAIT. To make it even more colorful, we encourage you to dress in traditional Japanese costumes or wear accessories associated with Japan!

See you at the Matsuri! More information coming soon!
