Academic Student Clubs of the Department of Mechanics of Computer Science and Robotics

Under the supervision of the Department of Mechanics, Computer Science and Robotics, there are active Academic Student Clubs that enable students to develop passions, acquire practical skills and carry out research and engineering projects. This is a space for knowledge exchange, teamwork and participation in competitions, conferences and industry events. You are cordially invited to learn more about the activities of the clubs and join selected teams!

AI Quantum Tech Research Circle

Imagine a place where the curious minds of PJAIT students come together to push the boundaries of technology, where theoretical knowledge meets practical application, and where innovation is not just a concept, but everyday practice. Members of our Research Circle are actively engaged in developing quantum computing solutions, exploring applications of artificial intelligence, and conducting research that combines theory with the challenges of reality, and much more. Our ultimate goal is to change the world for the better.

Supervisor of the circle: dr hab. Romuald Kotowski, Prof. PJAIT

RoboLab science club

Scientific Circle "Robolab" operates at the Faculty of Computer Science of the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology. It brings together students interested in robotics and artificial intelligence who want to develop their knowledge and skills in these fields. We are involved in projects concerning, among others, the construction of robots, IoT or 3D printing. For our projects we use STM32, Raspberry pi, esp32 or arduino chips, among others. The RoboLab Scientific Circle is based in the Robotics Laboratory in room B02. We are equipped with a 3D printer, measuring equipment, soldering equipment, a workshop and much more. The main projects of the circle are the construction and programming of a Martian rover, and the construction and programming of a drone.

Circle Supervisor: Maciej Maciejewski, M.Sc., macmac@pjwstk.edu.pl
Circle President: Franciszek Grochowski, franciszek.grochowski@pjwstk.edu.pl

Computer Vision Lab Research Club

The Computer Vision Lab student research group brings together students interested in computer vision, 3D data analysis, and the applications of artificial intelligence in robotic systems, including in the field of medicine. The group’s goal is to develop methods of spatial perception based on the fusion of 2D and 3D data and to implement them in operational systems.

The club carries out research and development projects covering areas such as image and point cloud segmentation, feature detection, medical data analysis, and the integration of perception with autonomous systems. These projects utilize technologies such as ROS 2 and OpenCV, as well as machine learning and deep learning methods.

The club’s activities are centered on project-based work, which can serve as the basis for theses and academic publications. Selected projects are also developed in collaboration with external partners, including the Copernicus Science Center.

Club Advisor: Izabela Leszczyńska, ilesz@pjwstk.edu.pl
