On April 17, 2025, Faculty of Culture of Japan celebrated one of Japan's most beautiful holidays - Hanami, or the admiration of cherry blossom trees. On that day, the entire faculty was transformed into a space full of flowers, creativity and joy. From the early hours of the morning, the students together with the presenters (E. Mackiewicz, J. Saito, K. Tarasiuk) prepared stands with workshops and attractions inspired by the Japanese spring.

The program included: workshops on ikebana - the traditional art of flower arranging, creating flowers from wax, DIY - sewing traditional Japanese otedama toys, making floral bookmarks, games, contests and quizzes related to the flora of Japan, writing flower-themed haiku poems.

The program culminated with the symbolic planting of a cherry tree by the C building. Through a student vote, a name for the tree was chosen: Sakurako. The event was an intimate affair, organized for the students of the Department of Japanese Culture.

Heartfelt thanks to all involved!
