We invite you to listen to the podcast "How was it really?" Radio Krakow, whose guest was lecturer PJAIT, Dr. Jakub Karpoluk. The meeting was held under the title "An Englishman in the court of a powerful lord and a brutal power struggle. How much truth and how much fiction is in the 'Shogun' series?".
He has won more than 20 awards, and was nominated for another nine. It has broken records of popularity in Poland and around the world, and has also received good reviews from critics. "Shogun" by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks takes us back to Japan at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. It is an adaptation of James Clavell's novel of the same name. We meet an English sailor - John Blacthorne, whose ship is wrecked off the coast of Japan. He gets to the court of Lord Toranaga, one of the most powerful lords in the country. She becomes his advisor, and finally finds herself caught up in the whirlwind of local politics and power struggles. Does the series accurately reflect the realities of the era? Mateusz Bożek discussed this with Dr. Jakub Karpoluk of the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw.
