Today marks the start of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. On this occasion, we are proud to announce that the final exhibition of the international mAIntains mOUntains project, co-organized bythe Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, has been officially selected bythe International Olympic Committee as one of the events of the Milano Cortina 2026 Cultural Olympiad program.

The mAIntains mOUntains project is being implemented jointly withPolitecnico di Milano as part of the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) funds. Partner universities from Italy, France, Germany, Portugal, and Poland are participating in the project. As part of the project, international workshops (including atPJAIT) were held, bringing together 73 participants, including 38 students from six foreign universities.

The workshops were part of the educational component of the project and enabled students to work in interdisciplinary, international teams. The activities are supervised by curators Jan Piechota andJakub Karpoluk, and the invited lecturers include representatives of Politecnico di Milano, Escola Superior de Design (IPCA), and L’école de Design Nantes Atlantique.

The next stage of the workshops will take place in February in Milan, while the project will culminate in an exhibition during Milan Design Week 2026 (April 2026). This exhibition has been selected for the Milano Cortina 2026 Cultural Olympiad program. Presenting the results of the project as part of the events accompanying the Olympics is a unique distinction for the participants and organizers, and confirmation of the high quality of international academic cooperation.
