She was a graduate of the State High School of Fine Arts in Zamosc, the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Poznan and the Department of History at the University of Warsaw. Elżbieta Gnyp practiced painting, printmaking and drawing, as well as photography. She was a member of the Association of Polish Pastelists.
