We are deeply saddened to announce that Dr. Marek Ejsmond-Slusarczyk, an employee of the Faculty of New Media Arts at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, passed away on April 3, 2024.

The funeral Mass will be held on April 10, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Church of St. Anthony of the Bernardine Fathers, 2/4 Czerniakowska Street, followed by escort to the family grave at Czerniakowski Cemetery. 


Marek Ejsmond-Ślusarczyk graduated from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. He defended his diploma in Prof. Wieslaw Szamborski's easel painting studio in 2000, winning the rector's honorable mention. In 2014 he defended his doctorate at the Painting Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

He was often invited to national and international reviews: at the 20th Festival of Polish Contemporary Painting at the Castle of Pomeranian Dukes in Szczecin (2004) he won the West Pomeranian Governor's Award, at the 2nd Warsaw Festival of Fine Arts (2006) he was awarded 3rd prize.

In 2006, he participated in the events: "Warsaw in Sofia", "Warsaw in Berlin. Contemporary Polish Painting", in the 4th International Art Biennale in Costa Rica and "New Tendencies in Polish Painting" Municipal Gallery BWA Bydgoszcz.

In 2007, he received the annual award of the EXIT - New Art in Poland quarterly and was the recipient of a scholarship from the Fund for Promotion of Creativity of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

In 2009 he was awarded the badge of honor "DEDICATED TO POLISH CULTURE."

Parallel to painting, he was engaged in art education. 

Since 2011, he has taught painting at the Faculty of New Media Art at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw.
