It is with deep sadness that we announce that on April 3, 2024, PhD Marek Ejsmond-Ślusarczyk, an employee of the Faculty of New Media Arts at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, passed away.

The funeral mass will be held on April 10, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Church of St. Anthony of Padua of the Order of Friars Minor at 2/4 Czerniakowska Street, followed by the burial in the family grave at the Czerniaków Cemetery. 


Marek Ejsmond-Ślusarczyk was a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He defended his diploma in the easel painting studio of Prof. Wiesław Szamborski in 2000, receiving the Rector's distinction. In 2014, he defended his doctorate at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

He was frequently invited to national and international reviews: at the 20th Festival of Polish Contemporary Painting at the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle in Szczecin (2004), he won the Award of the Voivode of West Pomerania; at the 2nd Warsaw Festival of Fine Arts (2006), he received the 3rd prize.

In 2006, he participated in the events: "Warsaw in Sofia", "Warsaw in Berlin. Contemporary Polish Painting", the 4th International Art Biennale in Costa Rica, and "New Trends in Polish Painting" at the BWA Municipal Gallery in Bydgoszcz.

In 2007, he received the annual award of the quarterly EXIT – New Art in Poland and was a scholarship holder of the Creative Promotion Fund of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

In 2009, he was awarded the honorary badge "MERITORIOUS FOR POLISH CULTURE".

Alongside painting, he was engaged in art education. 

Since 2011, he had been teaching Painting at the Faculty of New Media Arts at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw.
